Support the Studies of Human Trafficking Victim-Survivors
Human trafficking is often described as modern-day slavery. It takes on many forms today, including child labor and sex trafficking. An estimated 60,000 to 100,000 children in the Philippines are being trafficked for sexual exploitation.
Our organization, Voice of the Free, was established to end human trafficking and modern slavery. For 30 years, we have been at the forefront of this fight and contributed to the global anti-slavery movement.
Voice of the Free operates a shelter and manages legal cases of young girls rescued from prostitution, cybersex, and migrant forced labour. Through this campaign, we are hoping that the victim-survivors under our care can have access to education during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Two of the main causes of child trafficking in the country are poverty and limited job opportunities. Sadly, these circumstances got worse due to the pandemic. By completing their education, victim-survivors can end the cycle of poverty and move forward towards a better future.
This campaign would help 15 victim-survivors, aged 13 to 21, who are currently in senior high school and college. We would like to provide each of them with a laptop (complete with MS Office applications); train them on using MS Office, orient them on remote learning, and teach them about online safety.
The young girls under this educational program are also being trained as advocates and leaders. They help Voice of the Free in our advocacy such as raising the awareness of youths in schools and vulnerable communities.
Donate to this campaign and help us achieve our mission to mobilize our social partners, innovate high impact programs, and build the resilience of young women and girls to end slavery and other forms of exploitation and abuse.
