Since the outbreak of War on 7 October 2023 Pitchon-Lev mobilized to:
• deal with the immediate Emergency Operation by supporting the thousands for ‘internal refugees’ who have fled from their homes and the families of reservists who left their families to become Soldiers in the field; and
• prepare the infrastructure for the longer-term after the military war is over and the everyday battle resumes for families and individuals in need

Scope of work usual activities and beneficiaries
Pitchon-Lev’s usual Humanitarian Aid helps over 220,000 Aid Recipients in a year. Pitchon-Lev distributes annually throughout Israel to people living at or below the poverty line:
• over 92,000 family food parcels containing fresh food and pantry items for a family of 4 for a week
• over 12,000 special baby/infant parcels with formula, diapers
• over 240,000 items of clothing, footwear and household goods.
In the first 6 weeks of the War Pitchon-Lev's Emergency Logistics Center delivered:
• over 51,000 family food parcels and support such as clothes
• over 13,300 baby and infants bundles including baby formula, bottles, diapers
• over 6,400 hygiene kits
• over 7,300 ready-made meals
• over 47 tons of tactical equipment
Pitchon-Lev has mobilized to:
• deliver essential supplies to support defence and security forces in the field;
• source import and deliver over 300 pallets of critical medical supplies at a cost of over $1.5 M USD;
• deal with both the immediate Emergency Operation by supporting the thousands for ‘internal refugees’ who have fled from their homes and the families of reservists who left their families to become Soldiers in the field;
• deliver to 20 separate geographical locations daily in the South, North and Center of Israel; and
• prepare the infrastructure for the longer-term after the military war is over and the everyday battle resumes for families and individuals in need

RIGHTS IN A CLICK
As well as the Humanitarian Aid , we have been used RIGHTS IN A CLICK ( Pitchon-Lev's collaboration with Israel's National Insurance Institute). This free service helps people get their Social Welfare Rights using Volunteer Case Managers and experts to support them who work pro bono and guide Applicants through the process. This is uses a remote service model. after the War, we opened an Emergency Hotline address the full spectrum of Social Welfare Rights. To fast-track support for evacuees, Pitchon-Lev is collaborating with the JDC to offer evacuees a face-to-face service at the Centers in which they are currently staying.
<h5>Other background </h5>Pitchon-Lev is part of the National Emergency Assistance Authority in Israel that coordinates between Home Front Command, government and not-for-profits working to support the residents of Israel and the Defence and Security Forces in the field to take on additional tasks as required.
Our mission is to break the cycle of Intergenerational poverty in Israel. In this Emergency, we offer assistance, comfort, and essential supplies to those facing challenging circumstances. We have scaled up our operations to include an expanded Emergency Logistics Center and scaled up our programs to cope with the current and anticipated demand.
Pitchon-Lev - is a national apolitical, non-profit organization, established in Israel in 1998 as a national humanitarian organization focused on breaking the inter-generational cycle of poverty in Israel.
Pitchon-Lev directly assists over 220,000 individuals and families every year, distributing thousands of food parcels to needy families on a weekly basis, regardless of their gender, religion, race or nationality. We are directly in contact with Aid Recipients so we know that the aid that we deliver is appropriately delivered to the people who need it most.
Pitchon-Lev is supported by corporate and individual philanthropy in Israel, and over 12,000 volunteers annually. Pitchon-Lev has a total staff of 80 employees.
<h5>Trusted partner of Welfare Agencies </h5>Pitchon-Lev is a trusted partner, working with numerous volunteers and non-profits in Israel. In the past Pitchon-Lev has successfully executed projects including Welfare Card Distribution both before and during COVID response. Pitchon-Lev partners with National Insurance Institute of Israel for Rights in a Click to ensure that residents are getting all their Social Welfare Rights. Pitchon-Lev has the Midot Seal of Effectiveness, attesting to its effectiveness and efficiency.
