Passover of New Beginnings: Break the Cycle and Build Hope

Pitchon-Lev is an apolitical, non-profit organization, established in 1998 as a national humanitarian organization focused on breaking the inter-generational cycle of poverty in Israel. Pitchon-Lev directly assists hundreds of thousands of families and individuals every year, regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, or nationality.

No family should face an empty table during Passover. As the holiday approaches, 1 in 4 Israeli families will look at their empty pantries with growing anxiety. They wonder how they will make their seder a sacred and meaningful celebration. For these families, hunger is a daily struggle. They cannot afford basic food let alone matzah, wine, and other holiday dishes. Their struggle is more than hunger. It is an exclusion from cultural traditions that bind the Israeli community.

Pitchon-Lev's Passover campaign addresses this profound need. Each week, Pitchon-Lev distributes thousands of food parcels to Families in need across Israel. Each parcel is a curated package to sustain a family for a week. During the holidays we add traditional foods so families can celebrate. During Passover, the parcels will include matzah, grape juice, and other traditional items. It is more than simply filling stomachs. These parcels let families celebrate the holiday with dignity.

Vulnerable families face even more pressure during Passover. Food costs are higher because of the dietary requirements of the holiday.
