Dream Catcher Appeal’s next project will involve an extremely exciting environmental scheme, in partnership with the fantastic charity organisation Beach Buddies! We are reaching out for a potential sponsor to adopt a 14 mile stretch of beach, between Glen Mooar and the Point of Ayre, (the most sensitive stretch of bird nesting coastline on the Isle of Man) and will encourage communities to come together as part of a monumental year-round, ongoing beach clean initiative! The Isle of Man is proud to have been awarded status as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve region. The first entire nation to gain this prestigious accolade; the Isle of Man is resplendent with wildflowers, trees, moorlands and headlands, and has a rich biodiversity teeming with bird, animal and marine life. The adoption of 14 miles of beach and the associated beach clean events will be devoted to protecting and nurturing such life, raising awareness of the problems facing the natural world and taking positive action to ensure the future of our beautiful island and all of its inhabitants. In collaboration with local businesses, politicians, government officials, press, media, schools, clubs and wildlife charities; who will all be attending the official launch event – educational exhibits, classes, nature tours and children’s activities will be organised for thousands of people to learn from and enjoy. The sponsorship donation will be critical for boosting the profile of this prospective annual event and ensure huge ongoing support and involvement from the general public. It will also allow for the purchase of a Honda Pioneer all-terrain vehicle (ATV); essential for improved, island-wide beach access and people and litter transportation. Of course, the ATV would be fitted with the sponsor’s sign and logo and will be in action/on display on the opening day of the project. It’s not enough to just stand and stare… Help us to be a force of nature!
