There are more than 5 million families without a decent place to live. Hence, we can find them under the bridges, in disaster prone communities, depressed areas, or cramped inside a living space only a little bigger than a bathroom.
It is our goal at Habitat for Humanity to break the vicious cycle of poverty among Filipino families. That is why we work closely with the Local Government Units (LGUs) so we can identify the most vulnerable families and underserved individuals in the community.
Habitat for Humanity is not just about building homes. We also try our best to uplift the lives of every family we serve so we equip them with skills through various programs (e.g., financial literacy, livelihood program, etc.). We also provide the youth in the community with leadership training programs to develop their skills that will enable them to assess and identify the needs of their own community and come up with projects that will address their needs. We want them to tell us how we can help them, and we listen.

There are 5 things that we would like to address in this campaign: health, education, employment opportunities, safety, and security.
Health – the lack of windows or ventilation causes respiratory diseases, while the lack of proper toilets spreads diseases like cholera and typhoid.
Education – children who live in unsafe shelters have lower school attendance and completion rates. They do not have a place to study and the crowded environment makes it difficult to concentrate.
Employment Opportunities – having a registered address is essential to find work, while guaranteed good health is a key to keep a job and be able to perform properly.
Safety – families living in a safe environment are able to lay down the foundation that will enable them to thrive. They deserve to be in a home wherein they do not need to worry every time there is a storm, earthquake, or any calamity.
Security – every family needs to feel safe and secure, drawing together as a unit to support and love each other. There is an added dignity that comes with a decent home which translates to hopefulness for the future well-being and success of the family.
Help us be able to provide more Filipino families with a decent home and uplift their lives by donating to this campaign.
