The UN Development Report states that the poorest of the poor around the world are farmers and fishermen, Philippines included.
The median educational attainment of the Filipino Farmer is Grade 5.
The Schoolhouse for Farmers' Children at GreenEarth Heritage Foundation is in the middle of a reforestation site and an organic farm at the foothills of the longest mountain range of the Philippines, the Sierra Madre.
Our children used to walk 3 hours round-trip in order to attend the nearest public school across the river.
We utilize a globally recognized homeschool curriculum which emphasizes English and computer literacy and Bible-based values formation.
Our foundation's "LIVE, HOPE, DREAM" educational and scholarship assistance program has ignited the fire in the belly of a farmer's child to walk across two bridgeless rivers and unpaved roads to learn. He is now a full-tuition scholar, a graduating senior at Harvard University, concentrating in History and Government. Other outstanding farmers' children of our program are now degree holders in Accountancy, Agriculture, Business and Financial Management.
