Livelihood Program for PWDs and Their Families
The pandemic has taken its toll on our everyday lives, especially on our sources of income. Many people have lost their jobs, but the situation is more difficult for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and their families. The lockdown measures have intensified the barriers they face in accessing health services, as well as livelihood and income support.
COVID-19 measures may also indirectly affect PWDs since their family members and/or breadwinners are being prevented from working—negatively impacting the total income of their household.
Supporting people with disabilities is the main program of Handicapped Care Association (Handicare), Inc. We are aware that they have less access to social insurance since a lot of them work in the informal sector.
As a result of our assessment of their current family situation and consultation with the PWDs and/or their guardians, we would like to provide food carts, sari-sari store assistance, and other income-generating opportunities to the families of twenty (20) PWDs.
Our target budget for this campaign is Php 300,000.00. Each PWD will receive Php 15,000.00 sari-sari store capital assistance. Below is the budget allocation:
5 Sacks of rice (Php 1,000 per sack)
Php 5,000.00 x 20 = Php 100,000.00
E-Loading station
Php 3,000.00 x 20 = Php = 60,000.00
Assorted biscuits & other condiments & essential products in the household
Php 7,000.00 x 20 = Php 140,000.00

We believe that through this effort, the PWDs and their families will have more opportunities to sustain their needs instead of begging in the streets just to make ends meet.
You can make a difference! Donate to our campaign and help provide a source of income for 20 people with disabilities and their families.
