Support the Myanmar Scholarship Project

Child’s Dream Foundation provides four-year financial assistance to qualified undergraduate students to pursue a Bachelor’s degree through its Myanmar Scholarship Project. The foundation recognizes that there is a shortage of well-educated and experienced leaders in Myanmar and other countries in the Mekong Sub-region. Without people educated at a tertiary level, communities in this region have slower social and economic growth. To address this issue, Child’s Dream created the Myanmar Scholarship project. The foundation believes that with the opportunity of getting higher education, Myanmar students can have better employment opportunities. They can serve as future leaders and contribute to the development of their communities. Students from all ethnicities in Myanmar as well as Myanmar migrants living in Thailand may apply for this scholarship grant. To qualify, the student must have proven financial need and good academic performance. Child’s Dream prioritizes students who seek to create a positive impact in their communities by using the knowledge that they gain from their education. The selection panel looks at the students’ leadership and social skills. Those who qualify would have the opportunity to attend an undergraduate programme at selected universities in Thailand for free. The scholarship grant covers tuition and other school fees as well as books, uniforms, living allowance, and other expenses necessary for the student’s education. As of the end of 2017, Child’s Dream has 81 scholarship students and 150 alumni. The selection process for the next batch of scholars starts in the first quarter of this year. To support 20 new scholars for the school year 2018, Child’s Dream needs a total budget of $800,000. For every $40,000, the organization will provide full four-year financial assistance to one Myanmar student. Inspire future leaders by supporting the Myanmar Scholarship Grant.
