Kivunim provides an adaptive bicycle riding experience for young adults (ages 18-30) with physical/sensory disabilities. The club has been operating successfully for over eight years and has become the core of recreational training in Kivunim.
The club operates weekly (rain or shine) and includes a variety of adapted bicycles, such as tandem bicycles, tricycles, and hand bicycles. Twenty community volunteers from Matte-Asher and Nahariya areas accompany the club by riding with participants on tandem bicycles or riding alongside the tricycle riders. A professional trainer leads the club, together with Kivunim’s staff and occupational therapists, who assist with any adjustments and accessories needed.
The club usually rides on Nahariyah’s boardwalk and North towards Akhziv. This route offers beautiful and relaxing scenery and the opportunity for community interactions along the popular boardwalk. The club’s presence in public areas raises public awareness of the inclusion of individuals who have disabilities. We organize a memorable ride each spring to celebrate the end of the riding season (September-July).
